27th August 2010 - Date set for Rhythm & Funk Open Day
Kayzar will open it's brand new dance studio in just over 2 weeks time!
Kayzar's founder, Nader Boulila, has converted a former shop in Market Pavement, Basildon, into a dance studio. Officials at Basildon District Council approved a change of use for the unit from retail in Ma,y and renovation works started this summer to transform the venue into a fantastic place for dancers of all ages.
Kayzar has held dance classes in the area for a number of years as well as providing an outreach programme for schools, colleges, youth clubs and other organisations. The encouraging growth in members prompted Kayzar to seek it's own premises.
Nader said: "It has been a life-long dream to have our own venue providing positive dance activities that are both engaging and inspiring.I can't wait to open the studio now - it has been such a busy and exciting few months."
The studio is called Rhythm & Funk performing arts centre and offers a great place for dancers of all ages and abilities to learn, enjoy and achieve with dance classes available in a range of styles including streetdance, breakin, ballet, contemporary, tap, jazz, modern, cheerleading, drama, singing, dance fitness, pre-school dance and choreography.
Interested dancers are advised to book early to avoid disappointment as spaces are filling up fast.
The studio is having an open day with FREE taster sessions, refreshments, special performances and lots more, on Saturday 11th September 2010 from 10am to 4pm. Everyone welcome! The day will also be a chance for those who haven't already enroled to do so. Nader will open the studio to the public for the first time and begin dance classes on 13th September.

25 July 2010 - T Fest 2010

So many great acts were involved in this year’s T-Fest, which was held at Grays Beach Park - and Kayzar are so proud to have been part of it! The streetdance troupe had a fantastic time performing on the same stage as X-Factor contestants Stacey Solomon and Rachel Adedeji, Britain’s Got Talent favourites DJ Talent and Stavros Flatley as well as X-Factor stars Chico and Miss Frank and Britain’s Got Talent dancer Aidan Davis. Their routine featured beatboxing, streetdancing, breakdancing, flips and tricks - and went down a storm with the crowd!
24 July 2010 - 60x60 Dance
Our Artistic Director and Choreographer, Nader, was invited to be part of 60x60 Dance, which takes 60 one-minute audio works from an international pool of emerging and established composers and assigns them to 60 local choreographers, bringing together dance and electronic music in an electrifying one-hour performance. This was a unique show, where each minute of the hour saw a new composer and a new choreographer.
Kayzar Ninjas concluded the fast paced show with an electrying performance of Nader's choreography. The brainchild of composer and producer Robert Voisey, 60x60 started in New York and has grown across the globe. Silke Arnold and Adriana Pegorer presented it’s European debut as part of the Create Festival and to celebrate the two year countdown to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
18 July 2010 - Rising Starz Showcase
Kayzar's annual showcase "Rising Starz" took place on 11th July in Basildon. The event showcased the talents of all students and dance troupes of Kayzar, as well as urban performers The Street Team, Reflectionz dance crew, and singers Taner and Courtney Royce. Well done to everyone who took part in the event - you were all fantastic and we have had a lot of positive feedback. Thank you to everyone who supported the event giving our dancers an opportunity to showcase and celebrate their talent, and raising money for our brand new dance studio! 3/4 July 2010 - BasFest

Kayzar recently performed at Basildon Festival in Gloucester Park for the fourth year running, With an hour slot each day, they entertained the crowds with powerful dance performances, beatboxing antics, basketball tricks and singing. Performers included Kayzar Reloaded, Xposed, Ninjas, The Street Team "A2W", BaldMC, and R-Tizt.

June 2010 - Dance2Xpress

On the anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, Kayzar Reloaded performed in the Dance2Xpress tribute show. The amazing show took place at the Beck Theatre and was hosted by Akai and Ricardo, Kayzar Reloaded's exhilarating performance formed part of a superb line up which included Peridot, Definitives, Status and many more.
June 2010 - 2Smart Tour 2010
Kayzar are proud to have been part of the 2Smart Tour 2010. The campain by Essex Police teaches the dangers of knives, drugs, bullying and alcohol to year 7 pupils through dance, music, sport and comedy. Since February, Kayzar have toured venues across Essex to deliver the important message that the campain highlights with their powerful dance performance. Visit www.2smart.co.uk for more information.
June 2010 - Hip Hop dancer wins 2nd place in Europe

Kieran recently impressed international judges with his dancing skills and picked up 2nd place in the European Hip Hop Championships in Amsterdam. His body popping routine was so impressive that he only missed out on the top spot by 1 point! We are all very proud of him. Congratulations Kieran!
May 2010 - We've been granted planning permission!!
Great news! Our application to Basildon planning services to change the use of a shop in Basildon town centre to a dance studio with cafe has been approved! We are so thankful that our dreams are finally coming true and all our hard work and dedication is being rewarded. We hope that in the Autumn we will have a purpose built studio with a cafe lounge area offering dance classes in a wide range of styles and an area for relaxation to be enjoyed by all! May 2010 - Breakout & Aspire Showcase
In May, Kayzar took to the stage at Breakout's 5th anniversary and RTDance's Aspire Showcase. The events showcased the talents of up and coming dance acts, and took place at Riverside Studios, Hammersmith and the Beck Theatre, Middlesex, respectively. Performers included Britain's Got Talent finalists Twist & Pulse.
May 2010 - Robotic Dancing Guinness World Record Set

The World Robotic Dancing Record for the highest number of people Robotic Dancing at once took place at Stamford Bridge on 17th May, as part of the build up to ESFA The Danone Nations Cup Final and a total of 429 people took part. The event was in honour of their newly appointed ambassador, Peter Crouch.
Nader Boulila of Kayzar choreographed the routine keeping it simple but impressive to watch. Dancers from Kayzar then visited participating schools to teach them the routine in advance. On the big day, they lead the Robotic dance session and put on an impressive performance to celebrate the achievement on hearing the news that a new world record had been set.
Nader Boulila from the Kayzar Dance School said: “It was an honour to be asked to take part in such an event. Getting kids active and healthy has to be a priority these days. Dance, football, running, swimming - whatever you fancy they are all great ways to get moving and if it is your chosen sport there is no reason why you can’t get to the top of it....These kids need to see the benefits of exercise and where it can take them – the only way is up!”

April 2010 - Breakin' Convention: Future Elements

Kayzar Reloaded were thrilled to be invited to perform at Future Elements this year. The event at Sadlers Wells is part of the internationally acclaimed Breakin' Convention Festival. Their piece Hype was "so slick and manicured that it was a wonder such young people could pull it off. Dressed in black tracksuits, white gloves and balaclavas they were seamless, crisp and bold, using each other as human skip ropes and components to build robot like imagery, even presenting themselves as a gun shooting bullets off at one point; dancers rolling off into the space as pellets, gravity momentarily turned off. It was smoking hot and energetic". Future Elements has a focus on progression and vital to the success of the project is also the ingredient of co-operation and support between the young artists.

Curtis wins chance to dance with Diversity


A big well done to Curtis Butler who recent;y won a national competition by Let's Dance with Change4Life and got to dance with Diversity after impressing them with his dance moves. Curtis dances with our dance crews, Kayzar Ninjas and Reloaded. He has worked really hard on his dancing moves. We're all very proud of him. Congratulations Curtis!


January 2010 - European Hip Hop Qualifiers
After weeks of hard work, our dancers competed at the Oxfordshire Streetdance Championships on 31st January in Breakin, Popping, Locking and Streetdance styles, and they will now be heading out to Amsterdam this June to represent the UK in the European Championships organised by the International Dance Organisation.We wish them all the best of luck!

James Marsland, who dances with Kayzar on Thursdays at their Wickford dance school has been practicing his moves over the past few weeks and it all paid off this week when he won his school talent contest. Congratulations James!

Celebrity Dunk 'n' Funk 2009
Kayzar Reloaded brushed shoulders with celebrties as they provided entertainment at the Celebrity Dunk n Funk basketball game on 22 November 2009. The Stars Came out to Play in full force for the 5 th slam-dunking celebrity basketball tournament ‘Dunk `n` Funk` - held at the Brentwood Centre, Sunday 22nd November 2009 in aid of charity. JLS, with a little help from world triple jump champion Phillips Idowu slam dunked their way to glory with victory over DJ Spoony`s team in the final after seeing off competition from the Rogues and the TV Stars team with Lucian Laviscount, Marquelle Ward and more. In the girls tournament Kandy Rain took on Miss Frank with the soulful threesome winning by way of a dramatic shoot out after the teams drew level after full time.

Surrey Streetdance Championships
YOUNG dancers from Essex are taking the Street Dance world by storm after picking up no less than 20 trophies at a recent dance competition. The dancers took first place in the over 16 Street Dance section at the Surrey Streetdance Championships, after competing against hundreds of talented dance crews from around the UK. They then showcased their talent in solo and duo sections at the competition run by Streetdance International. Issie Olley (16) and Shannon Plair (14) came first in the under and over 16 duo section with Ellen Westmore (14) and Daisy Baker (17) taking second place. Kieran Lai (13) came first in the under 16 solo section while Rachael Clare (17) took first place in the over 16 solos. Curtis Butler (10), Tony Heirs (8) and Lewis Josephs (9) took second, third and fourth place in the under 12 solo section. The talented dancers also recently won first, second and third place in a local talent contest.

Urban Energy Show 2009
Young hip hop dancers are set to star in a music video after winning a judge's vote at the Urban Energy Dance Show on 2 October 2009. Several dance crews took to the stage to showcase their talent and skill, but Kayzar Reloaded topped it with their crisp, clean moves, creativity and amazing talent, at the event at Civic Hall in Grays. Each judge chose their winning act and Kayzar Reloaded were ecstatic to be one of the lucky acts chosen. The crew will now perform in Maxwell D’s new music video. “Everyone is really excited and looking forward to it. We are all so passionate about dancing so this will be quite an experience”. Nader Boulila – chief choreographer said. The versatile crew, aged 7 to 29, wowed the audience and received a standing ovation from the judges after their sensational performance which involved impressive streetdance routines, popping and krumping moves alongside energetic acrobatics, breakdance tricks and beatboxing. "We have a different edge. I think the judges were intrigued by our individuality. Hip Hop is not just the way we dance – it is who we are and how we come together and I think that comes across very positively in our performance and makes a big impact!” explains Nader.
No Messin' Campaign 2009
Kayzar Dance proudly supported the No Messin Live tour at Festival Leisure Park, Basildon in August 2009. The safety campaign by Network Rail was attended by 500 to 1000 young people, who got the chance to practice their skills in motor biking, boxing, DJing, dance, football freestyling, rock climbing, as well as pick up some great prizes. Kayzar Dance taught young people dance skills and also performed on the main stage throughout the day in an attempt to show that there are fun, positive activities to participate in rather than hang around on railway lines.
Essex Streetdance Championships 2009

Practice really does make perfect as Kayzar Dance pupils found out when they competed at the Essex Streetdance Championships on 19th July. They took home a total of 15 trophies after busting their moves against other talented competitiors at the competition organised by Streetdance International.

Basildon Festival 2009
Kayzar Dance kept the adrenaline pumping with an exciting and energetic performance at Basildon Festival at the weekend. Performing for the third year running, Kayzar Dance showcased their talents in a variety of hip hop dance routines and attracted huge crowds with their impressive dance moves at the event in Gloucester Park. The dance group wowed onlookers each day with an hour long performance combining beatboxing, breakdancing, streetdancing, popping, singing, drama and freestyle, as well as a tribute to Michael Jackson.

The Streetz - annual showcase 2009
At the end of May, Kayzar Dance pupils put on a fantastic performance for family and friends to showcase the skills and moves they have been learning at their dance classes so far this year. Performers included those from the infants classes alongside adult pupils and everyone in between! A big thank you to everyone for your support - it really is much appreciated.
Thurrock's Got Talent 2009
KDK Allstars impressed the judges and wowed the audience with their beatboxing breakin' act to be crowned champions at Thurrock's Got Talent competition on 9th May 2009. The winning performance earned the deserved champions a cash prize and an appearance at this year's Stanford Music Festival.

Brentwood's Got Talent 2009
Kayzar Dance recently fought off competition from 11 other finalists in Brentwood's Got Talent 2009 at the Brentwood Theatre. Their unique and energetic hip hop piece featuring beatboxing, breakdancing, acrobatics, singing and streetdancing wowed the crowds and impressed the judges resulting in a victory in not only their own category but also as overall competition winners.

Pupils at three Basildon schools worked with Kayzar Dance to provide a fantastic display of streetdance, breakdance and hip hop at the Towngate Theatre in Basildon. James Hornsby, Woodlands and De La Salle schools spent months preparing their dance routine along with Nader Boulila of Kayzar Dance. Their efforts really paid off with a performance that was very much enjoyed by all - dancers and spectators alike! |

Kayzar raises money for Brainwave Charity |

Kayzar Dance recently held a "Hip Hop for Charity" workshop in aid of Brainwave charity, based in Essex. Participants learnt hip hop dance moves and had lots of fun at the workshop on 12th August 2008 in Basildon. All monies were donated to Brainwave, which specialises in individual therapy for children aged from 6 months to 12 years who have delayed development, and receives no government funding.

UK Streetdance Championships 2008 |

Young dancers from Kayzar Dance have triumphed in the UK Streetdance Championships at the Brentwood Centre, taking home 9 trophies and qualifying for the European Hip Hop Championships in Denmark later this year. Solo Freestylists Tony Heirs and Morgan Robertson came 1st and 5th in the Under 10s category, Shannon Plair came 1st in the Under 14s category, Racheal Clare and Victoria Haddock came 1st and 4th in the Under 16s category, Livvy Goodwin came 2nd in the Over 16s category. Duos Chloe Hookins and Livvy Goodwin came 1st in the Over 16s female category, and Lewis Josephs and Tounsi Arfawi came 4th in the Over 16s male category, while K.DK. came 3rd in the Over 16s Team category at the competition on 20th July. The dancers who all attend classes run by Kayzar Dance in Wickford, Brentwood and Basildon, competed against hundreds of other talented dancers to pick up the trophies impressing judges with breakdance tricks, choreographed hip hop routines and freestyle dancing. The dancers are now looking for sponsors to enable them to make the once in a lifetime trip to Denmark for the European Championships. Trainer and Dance Teacher Nader Boulila said “This is a fantastic and well-deserved achievement for our dancers who all work really hard with much determination. It is great that their hard work has been recognized and I hope this will inspire them to continue to celebrate and showcase their amazing talents.” |
KAYZAR DANCE PERFORM AT BASFEST 2008 |
On the weekend of 5th and 6th July 2008, Kayzar Dance performed in two hourly slots at the events arena as part of Basfest 2008. Kayzar Dance were invited to perform this year on both days and for a longer slot after their successful performance at Basfest 2007.
Dancers from Kayzar Dance's Wickford and Hutton classes along with KDK and KD Breakerz performed their hop hop dance routines and breakdance tricks to a cheering crowd. The performance also featured a graffiti artist and singer.

Pupils attending Kayzar Dance hip hop workshops at Beauchamps School in Wickford took part in Shine Week - the national festival which celebrates all the talents in all young people - from 30th June to 4th July 2008. The youngsters performed in daily assemblies in front of their peers showcasing their talent with dance routines choreographed during the workshops.
Kayzar Dance run hip hop workshops for school pupils at Beauchamps School every Monday and Friday during term time.

B.boy Lewis who attends Kayzar Dance, received a cheque for £100 from Brentwood Council in recongnition for being one of Brentwood's most talented youngsters. The awards are sponsored by the council and Havering College and recognise dedicated 7-16yr olds. The money is to be used to help Lewis pursue his passion for dance.

In April 2008, Kayzar Dance provided entertainment at the re-opening of Hutton Community Centre, which has undergone a massive refurbishment. Kayzar Dance opened the evening with a fantastic display of hip hop dance featuring many of the young dancers who attend workshops at the centre at weekends. Among the audience were Brentwood MP Eric Pickles, ECC members and Brentwoood Borough Councillors.Kayzar Dance feel very proud to have been given the opportunity to perform and showcase their talent as well as offer a preview of what Kayzar Dance has to offer young people in the area |
Phoenix FM
On 17th March 2008 Kayzar Dance were invited to appear on the Mike and Julie Show at Phoenix FM. This was Mike and Julie's first opportunity to present their own show and we are very grateful and proud to have been part of it!

Kayzar Dance have triumped once again at the Brentwood's Got Talent finals recently held at Brentwood Theatre, in aid of the Mayor's charities.
Out of 70 applicants, Kayzar Dance were one of thirty selected for the heats, and then one of thirteen finalists chosen to perform their act in front of a panel of judges. Finalists were chosen on level of skill, presentation, variety of performance, passion and commitment.

Spring 2008 - All England Streetdance Championships
On 10th February 2008, dancers from Kayzar Dance recently competed at The All England Streetdance Championships in Northfleet, Kent. Out of the four dancers competing, three received trophies for their freestyle dancing in their respective categories. A big well done to Shannon who came in 2nd place, Lewis who came in 3rd place, and Lewis who came in 4th place.

Winter 2007 - Thurrock Civic Award Ceremony
Kayzar recently performed at Thurrock's Civic Award ceremony at Blackshots Civic Hall. The ceremony awards the people of Thurrock for their dedication and achievements with awards such as Young Citizen of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award. More than 400 guests attended the event, and were entertained by Kayzar Dance who were thrilled to have been asked to perform in such prestigious event and to such a large audience. Kayzar Dance's performance consisted of a mixture of choreographed streetdance routines along with bboying and freestyling. Our dancers ranged in age from 5 to over 25 years. Well done to everyone who took part!
Autumn 2007 - IDO World Hip Hop Championships
With the help of AEON Systems and Brentwood Youth Project,, Kayzar Dance were able to fulfill their dream of competing in the IDO World Hip Hop Championships in Bremen, Germany .The event was an amazing experience for all our dancers and one that will inspire them to always reach for the top. Well done to all those who took part in this event,

Summer 2007 - Essex Streetdance Championships
Kayzar Dance recently competed at the Essex Streetdance Championships organised by Streetdance International at the Brentwood Centre, and beat off serious competition to win the Over 18s Semi-Pro Team Category. Pupils also received several trophies in the Solo Freestyle Categories. Our hardwork, dedication and effort has really paid off as Kayzar Dance now go forward to compete at the World Hip Hop Championships organised by the International Dance Organisation in Bremen, Germany later this year.
